NotebookLM has been around for about a year, though I only came across it last week when my daughter showed me how she was using it for university work.
It’s a tailored AI : it’s from Google, based on Gemini 1.5, but you can load documents into it for context, analysis and summary. Where it’s getting a lot of media attention is that you can also generate podcasts on your documents : rather than the usual “type questions / get answers” (which exists, and works really well) you can listen to two people discussing the information you’ve loaded.
And wow, it is so good. For fun, I loaded up my resume into it : and I now have a 9 minute podcast of two lovely (but not real) people just saying amazing - and relevant - things about me.
